Barrack Heights Public School is a welcoming and inclusive centre of learning located within the Shellharbour area. The school is an advocate for Public Education and strives to provide exciting, engaging and enriching experiences for all 230 students. Barrack Heights Public School continues to build on quality teaching, learning and leadership practices with a focus on improving student learning outcomes across all areas of the curriculum. As an Early Action for Success school, there is a strong focus on growth in the areas of literacy and numeracy and all classrooms providing differentiated learning opportunities.

 

Barrack Heights Public School has a diverse culture of learners with 25% of the population identifying as Aboriginal. We pride ourselves on our work in Aboriginal Education and ensuring Aboriginal perspectives are embedded in all classrooms. A further 17% of students at Barrack Heights Public School identify as having English as a Second Language. The school also hosts three support classes, one Autism and two Multi Categorical. Catering for the individual student is at the core of the schools vision and values.
