Barham is located along the picturesque banks of the Murray River in the south west of the Riverina. Barham is a ‘twin town’ with Koondrook sitting just over the heritage listed Barham Bridge in Victoria.  Barham is clearly the economic centre of the two towns. It is a service centre for an area known for its river redgum timber industry, citrus growing and a wide range of primary production businesses.  Barham is a wonderland for bushwalking, swimming, canoeing, camping and fishing for the Murray cod which abound in its waters. Barham has an 18-hole golf course and currently under construction bowling greens.

Barham Public School is a P1 school catering for the learning needs of 116 students. The school draws students from the township of Barham and its surrounding rural district. Barham is located 823 kilometres south west of Sydney and 300km north west of Melbourne allowing residents to drive an easy 3 hours to the heart of Melbourne.

Barham Public School staff and school community work in partnership to create a safe, respectful and future focused learning environment. Teachers know and understand the needs and talents of their students and employ research-based pedagogies, professional reflection and evaluation to effectively address their students' needs. The school promotes equity and excellence to ensure all students become successful learners, confident and creative individuals and active and informed citizens who are equipped to shape their future.

The school is well resourced and benefits from a supportive parent body and dedicated staff who are committed to providing a quality education across all key learning areas. Barham Public School hosts strong early transition programs for students entering kindergarten and moving to high school.
