Bankstown Public School currently has an enrolment of 814 students and is located in South Western Sydney. The school community is richly diverse with 98% of students having a language background other than English. The school receives equity funding to support students from low socio-economic and non-English speaking backgrounds. There are 32 mainstream classes and a support class which caters for the needs of students with mild intellectual disability. Every student and staff member, alongside the community, works together with a shared vision towards enhanced opportunities for success. Strong collaborative team structures exist and are enhanced by a school culture of embedded professional learning and support. The school is part of the Early Action for Success initiative.
