The Baden-Powell Activity Centre was officially opened in February 1929 and is a perpetual lease from the NSW Government. Since then, the Centre has been busy catering for groups of all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life. During the Depression, the Centre became the permanent camping site for many who were out of work. Together they built the camping flats, chapel and many of the stone paths and gardens are seen at the Centre. In 1931, Lord and Lady Baden-Powell visited on their trip to Australia, and the Centre remains an important part of Scouting in NSW.

"Our Group will always remember this trip... the location and facilities were amazing and allowed our group to maintain its COVID 'bubble'... Lake Ginninderra will keep BPSC at the top of our list next time we venture to Sydney."

Sharon Pike - Scout Leader at Lake Ginninderra Sea Scouts
