Austral Public School has an enrolment of 294 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, including 54% students from a non-English speaking backgrounds and 5% Aboriginal. The local area is currently undergoing redevelopment and the school is growing steadily in numbers.
We are an innovative school with a focus on continual improvement of student learning outcomes within a safe, caring and supportive environment. The staff is committed to ongoing professional learning, delivering high quality teaching and learning programs for our future focused learners and catering for all levels of ability.
Austral Public School is an Early Action for Success (Phase 1 and 2) and a Bump
it up school and is supported by 2 Instructional Leaders (K – 2 & 3 – 6) in
2019. Our K to 2 staff implement Language, Learning and Literacy (L3)
Kindergarten, L3 Stage 1 Comprehension, Targeting Early Numeracy (TEN) and our
3 -6 teachers are implementing Focus on Reading Phase 1 and 2. Our key
priorities include literacy, numeracy, technology and student wellbeing through
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). The school is dedicated to excellence
and values the strong links we have forged with our community.
