In 2019, Duval High School amalgamated with Armidale High School to form Armidale Secondary College, with an enrolment of 1200 students. All staff and students are currently based at the Duval Campus for two years (2019-2020) while a brand-new, purpose-built school is constructed on the site of Armidale High School. This position will, therefore, form a part of the Armidale Secondary College staffing. The NSW DoE and the NSWTF have agreed that staffing in the two schools will be maintained at 2017 levels until two years after the new build has been opened (Day 1 2021), after which time, normal staffing agreement operations will be in place.

The combined schools have an ongoing focus on excellence and achievement in academic, cultural, sporting and citizenship areas, and are also Positive Behaviour for Learning schools - our community values (Respect, Responsibility and Resilience) are embedded in all school programs and activities. Armidale Secondary College reflects a culture of lifelong learning and high expectation. We seek to ensure a quality educational program which caters for the learning needs of every student, and encourages them to focus on achieving their potential, concern for others and the cooperative pursuit of excellence. The diverse curriculum, effective suite of welfare programs and a wide range of cultural and sporting opportunities support the school goal of developing well-rounded future citizens.
