Alma Public school is located in Broken Hill, 1220 kilometres west of Sydney, in a city of approximately 18,000 people. Nearly 36% of our 276 student enrolment is Aboriginal. The Wilyakali/Baakandji people are the predominant Aboriginal grouping in our school.
Students are enrolled across our Aboriginal designated preschool, 12 mainstream classes and 2 special education classes. We have an active P&C who run our canteen and breakfast club. The whole school is committed to the values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. Alma receives additional funding to counteract the low-socioeconomic circumstances of our families.
