Action Learning Initiatives, or ALI as it is more commonly known, has been operating in the Snowy Mountains for over 15 years.

We are a leading provider of Outdoor Education Recreation in Summer,Geography, PDHPE , PASS and Duke of Edinburgh programs. We also specialise in winter programs: resort-based skiing and snowboarding and designing backcountry programs including cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snow survival skills, catering for groups between 20-240 students.

ALI is committed to using the amazing resources of the Snowy Mountains to design Outdoor Education &  Recreation programs that specifically fit the required learning objectives/outcomes and needs of our client schools.

ALI is able to offer a wide range of adventure and educational activities to take students outside their comfort zones and challenge them physically and emotionally, yet still provide a positive and supportive team dynamic. These activities are conducted within or exceed strict safety guidelines set by industry best practice and government.

We provide the following outdoor activities which can be used in any combination within one of our programs to suit the schools requirements and learning outcomes:

  •  Mountain biking
  •  Hiking – days hikes or multi day expeditions across Mt Kosciuszko including chairlift ride at Thredbo
  • Canoeing(flat-water & white water up to Grade 2)
  • River sledding
  • Raft building
  • Abseiling and rock-climbing
  • Team building and initiative games
  • GPS/Orienteering
  •  Crate climbing
  • Archery
  • Community service
  • National Park and Snowy Hydro Education sessions
  • Downhill skiing and snowboarding
  • Cross country skiing
  • Back country expeditions
  • Snowshoeing and snow survival skills
  • Programs can also incorporate Canberra site visits e.g. War Memorial or Parliament House

We can provide a comprehensive program with the following inclusions:

  • Centre-based accommodation and programming at Bungarra Alpine Centre - located on 200 acres five minutes out of Jindabyne town
  • Camping within the Kosciuszko National Park or onsite at Bungarra
  • Expedition or journey-based programs
  • Highly experienced and qualified guides
  • Specialist equipment for all activities
  • Snowsports hire – skiing, snowboarding and cross country equipment and clothing. Hire Centre located onsite at Bungarra
  • Transport in seat belt fitted coaches
  • Thorough administrative support pre, during and post program
