Less than 10 per cent of principals in New Zealand feel their workload is manageable, and 22 per cent say their excessive workload is preventing them doing justice to their school.
NZCER runs its national survey of secondary schools every three years, with 154 principals from English-medium secondary schools taking part last year. The top ranking issue, they say, is providing support for vulnerable students, including those with mental health issues.
