Resource Description

(This is an Australian Curriculum Photocopy masters - 64 pages)

Media Arts: Years 5-6 is the third book in a three-part series linked to the Australian curriculum.

Creating, exploring and presenting a number of media artworks through hands-on activities; group work and lively discussions is the primary focus of this resource.
Students will take photographs; interview people; design and create video games, podcasts, web pages and photo stories; annotate and study movie posters and other still images as well as script a funny B-grade horror film. These activities and others will help students to understand key media art concepts such as: representation; power relationships; the role of sound and the camera; audience, purpose and permission.
To view the media artworks included in this book in colour and in more detail, an online link is provided for students or teachers to access on their devices.
Suggested responses and additional teaching notes can be found at the back of the book.
