It's a truth universally acknowledged in this country that people don’t go into teaching for the pay packet.
“We’re not suggesting that people should go into teaching to become rich, but we’re suggesting that people shouldn’t have to make really big trade-offs and financial sacrifices in order to do [it],” Grattan Institute researcher Julie Sonnemann argues.
