Procrastination: a necessary evil?

On my first day back in school at the start of this term, I shared with most teachers a list of tasks that simply had to be completed: my first priority was planning the classes for that week, then the marking that hadn't been completed over the holidays, a school trip that needed to be organised and finally a mountain of paperwork.
