Belltrees Public School is a small rural school with a rich history of providing high-quality education for more than 140 years. Located 36 km east of Scone and surrounded by farming properties, the school draws students from nearby townships including Moonan Brook, Moonan Flat, Stewarts Brook, Belltrees, and Gundy. Currently, Belltrees has an enrolment of 11 students, complemented by the successful b4Kindy program, which currently engages an additional 3 young learners. The b4Kindy initiative has played a significant role in increasing early childhood engagement and school enrolments by offering families a supportive and high-quality early learning experience that seamlessly connects with the school’s educational programs.

The school is well equipped with the latest technology and resources, enabling teachers to deliver engaging, hands-on learning opportunities tailored to each student’s academic growth and development. Flexible learning spaces within the classroom encourage student collaboration and maximise engagement with the curriculum. General Selection Criteria

1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

Specific Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.

 

  • Proven commitment to valuing, sustaining, and value adding to existing programs and processes that support student achievement and wellbeing through collaborative leadership and data-driven improvement.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with the wider educational community to foster a collaborative environment that enriches and enhances the school’s culture and supports student learning and wellbeing.
  • Exemplary classroom practitioner who has skills and capability to coach and mentor other staff around effective classroom practice while managing the dual role of Teaching Principal.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively give and receive constructive feedback from all school stakeholders and to use this feedback to inform decisions and implement actions that lead to measurable improvements in student learning outcomes.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2017 details the new principal classification structure based on complexity of schools which commenced in 2016. The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Teaching Principal Level TP1 for 2025 and also for 2026.
