Position Information

Picton High School has 1,180 students including 10% of students from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and 3% of students from an English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) background. The school also has eleven support classes to accommodate the 70 students with identified learning and support needs. We are located south west of Sydney between Camden and Mittagong and have a regional outlook. There are seven primary schools in our drawing area. Approximately 100 teachers and support staff work to provide a quality education for our students. 

Specific Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach mathematics 7-12

2. Demonstrated capacity to contribute to a positive faculty culture with an emphasis on quality outcomes for all students.

3. Demonstrated ability to create and maintain safe and challenging learning environments through the use of classroom management skills and effective communication.

4. Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively as a team, including working collaboratively on whole school programs.

 

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
