Position Information

Northern Beaches Secondary College, Freshwater Senior Campus is a comprehensive secondary school located in the Northern Beaches of Sydney. The student population of 650 has been consistent over the last five years. Our school community is drawn from a variety of both Government and non-Government schools from across the Northern Beaches. We are one of five campuses in the Northern Beaches Secondary College, which provides our students with opportunities to access the widest possible curriculum choices, including a comprehensive range of HSC subjects. 

Our students develop a level of trust with their teachers that encourages them to take more responsibility for their learning. A highly supportive wellbeing team supports student welfare and learning needs. "Freedom to Learn", our school motto, encapsulates the spirit within the school and our students’ readiness to prosper in an environment of high expectations. The school's staff is stable with typically low turnover of staff each year.

Specific Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach Legal Studies and Business Studies.

2. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff and parents to improve student learning outcomes.

3. Willingness to contribute to faculty and whole school programs.

4. Ability to engage with students with varied educational needs, to develop strategies that inspire learning, student collaboration and research skills to develop critical and higher order thinking skills. 

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
