Veritas Education is currently recruiting for a Classroom Assistant to work with students with physical disabilities in a special school in Barnsley. If you have the experience and compassion to help students thrive, this role could be perfect for you.

The Role

  • Supporting students with physical disabilities in the classroom, assisting with mobility and participation in lessons.
  • Helping the teacher deliver tailored learning activities that meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Providing personal care support as required, ensuring students' dignity and independence are maintained.
  • Assisting with the development of individualized learning plans and activities that are inclusive for all students.
  • Promoting independence and helping students build confidence in their learning and daily routines.

    • Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting children or young adults with physical disabilities is highly desirable.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
  • Ability to assist with personal care needs while maintaining dignity.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support students in a positive, inclusive environment.

  • Clear Enhanced DBS
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Photo identification.
  • 2 Satisfactory references.
  • Police check (if applicable)
  • Experience working with children with complex needs.
