About the Role
This temporary Principal Advisor (Identified), Government Champion role is available until 30 June 2025, unless otherwise determined. Responsibilities include;
- Work with offices of Government Champions and networks to coordinate requests for briefings, compile reports on activities and provide advice to the Minister, Director-General, and Deputy Director-General.
- Support the Deputy Director-General First Nation Strategy & Performance and the First Nation Strategy & Performance executive management team by providing high-level strategic advice in relation to departmental and divisional matters.
- Work with the Office of the Deputy Director-General First Nation Strategy & Performance to prepare and review correspondence items including complex briefing notes, Ministerial submissions, reports and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards and within set timeframes.
- Consult with departmental officers and brief the Deputy Director-General, both orally and in writing, as the occasion demands, on emergent and critical issues that may require sensitive management and immediate attention.
- Research, analyse and prepare briefs on complex reports and submissions in order to interpret and render advice on their technical aspects for the Deputy Director-General's consideration.
- Prepare and coordinate reports, recommendations, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, publications and correspondence on behalf of the Deputy Director-General.
- Coordinate the flow of correspondence through the division, including distribution, receipting and tracking, to ensure the requests are completed accurately and within set deadlines.
- Provide specialist advice relating to legislation and/or policy frameworks administered by the division.
