A warm and inclusive all girls secondary school in Hackney, East London, are looking for a Learning Support Assistant for a September start. The school embody values of compassion, integrity, and resilience, and believe that equipping their students properly throughout their secondary journey is vital to set them up for success. They are looking for a warm and empathetic learning support assistant who embodies these values. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to support them within a mainstream learning environment. Learning support assistants are an integral part of a close-knit team, working on a 1-1 and small group basis with students who need additional support. You may be within one department/class, or floating between several, depending on the needs of the students you are working with. A desire to support young people and help them flourish is the most important quality, and it would be beneficial to have some experience of working with secondary aged children (11-16).

Role: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Hackney

Start Date: September

Position: Full-Time, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
  • Work closely to support students with a range of special educational needs (SEN)
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized learning plans.
  • Support classroom activities and help create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all students.
  • Qualifications:

  • A passion for education and a commitment to student success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Being proactive and easily adaptable
  • Experience working with children in some capacity (formal or informal)
  • An enhanced DBS on the Online Update Service (or be willing to get one)
