Position Information
Junee High School is a rural comprehensive secondary school which draws students from the township and surrounding farms and villages. The school enjoys high levels of community support from local businesses and farms. Current enrolments are 265 students, including 3 multi-categorical classes, 48 Aboriginal students and 11 students from Non-English-Speaking backgrounds. Junee High School has strong links with its partner primary schools through a successful middle school program, the Ngumba-Dal Learning Community, and Targeted Literacy and Numeracy programs. Agriculture plays a pivotal role in our community, and in our Learning Community. We actively engage our partner schools in education.
General Selection Criteria
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Approval to teach in Special Education and/or demonstrated experience in teaching students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, autism, challenging behaviours and students with confirmation of disabilities including mental health and/or emotional disturbance.
- Demonstrated leadership in the use of the collaborative curriculum planning processes for the development and implementation of flexible and innovative learning programs that enhance student learning, attendance, engagement and support the wellbeing of students within a special education setting.
- Demonstrated consultative leadership and the capacity to work collaboratively with the executive team to lead, manage and implement whole school priorities and initiatives.

Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with proven capacity to build relationships and lead collaborative planning with all stakeholders to develop, implement and review Personalised Learning and Support Plans to meet the diverse needs of students with a disability, whilst maximising student growth and engagement.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
