About the Role:

As the Deputy Principal you will have responsibility for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Working as part of the school's leadership team to foster a shared educational belief that all students can achieve to a high standard and all teachers can teach to a high standard, resulting in quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Co-leading the implementation of the school's strategic priorities and explicit improvement agenda through effective data analysis, efficient project management and quality assurance of delegated school portfolios and responsibilities.
  • Quality assuring curriculum, pedagogy and assessment in line with best practice in the Australian Curriculum, QCAA Senior Curriculum and the school's Pedagogy Approach.
  • Building the capability of Head of Departments and other school-based leaders through effective line management and leadership of ongoing professional development aligned to the Australian Professional Standards and annual performance review processes.
  • Overseeing budgeting and action planning for delegated departments, cohorts and school projects, ensuring effective use of targeted resources and equity of access for all students.
  • Forming partnerships with students, parents, other schools, other government agencies, and community groups to enrich learning experiences and opportunities for students.
  • Understanding and enacting the legislation and policies that affect schooling in relation to students and staff including the Student Learning and Wellbeing Framework, the Staff Wellbeing Framework, the Inclusive Education Policy, the Student Code of Conduct and associated behaviour policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
