Position Information
Bankstown Girls High School is a comprehensive secondary school established in 1960, located in Sydney’s Southwest. Our student population of 570 girls reflects a diverse range of cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. Notably, 98% of our students come from non-English speaking backgrounds, and 30% require varying levels of support in English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D).

General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Extensive knowledge and expertise to foster a school culture of high expectations through comprehensive professional development initiatives, including High Potential and Gifted Education, as well as Literacy and Numeracy strategies.
2. Proven leadership capability to collaborate effectively as part of the school's senior executive team, enhancing staff skills in curriculum and assessment, and establishing a collaborative environment aligned with the school’s strategic directions and priorities.
3. Exceptional leadership proficiency, with a strong understanding and skillset for managing complex individual student learning and wellbeing needs, while balancing the diverse daily demands of senior executive responsibilities to support the social-emotional wellbeing and academic achievement of all students.
4. A highly visible leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate strong connections with the local school community and engage stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
