The opportunity
An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen within the Communications Team for a permanent, full-time or two part-time roles to support the daily operations of the College.
About the role
The Communications Officer is responsible for assisting College staff to effectively communicate news and events, compilation and editing of the weekly Radford Bulletin, assisting with the College website, social media and other digital communication. The role also assists with co-ordination of the College publications and events and mentoring and supporting the Community Organisations Administrators.

About you
The successful candidate will have had considerable experience working in communications and will display an understanding of the operations required to meet the needs of the College community. They will be a confident self-starter who enjoys building relationships with multiple stakeholders both inside and outside of the College, possesses excellent communication skills, has a strong customer-service focus and can be relied upon to work autonomously and as a team member.
Candidates must:
· demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with college staff and external stakeholders
· demonstrate energy and enthusiasm for working within the education sector.
· be technically competent and confident in the Microsoft Office suite, Adobe suite and willing to learn school systems, (including website content management system, Nexus (College communications portal) and Synergetic (College database).
· demonstrate a passion for collaborative working as a member of a high-functioning team, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
· be energetic, enthusiastic and demonstrate a willingness to grow through the sharing of best practice and professional experience
· possess excellent communications skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent time management skills
· be reliable, punctual and flexible
· support Radford’s strategic priorities and goals

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
· Substantial experience in a communications role
· Strong writing and editing skills including sound knowledge of English spelling and grammar
· Website content management skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe programs, graphics and image programs
· Event management experience.
