About our school:

St Andrews Catholic School is a co-educational Catholic Primary school, catering for approximately 540 students from Prep to Year 6. The nature-laden site, situated in the inner north-western suburbs of Brisbane, boasts an abundance of green space, and is one of three schools within the Grovely Catholic Parish. Students attend from neighbouring suburbs, with a significant number travelling from the Samford Valley area. The school also has a large percentage of Defence Force families, and employs a Defence School Mentor to support these children and their families. For nearly 40 years the school's rich history, commencing with the Sisters of the Good Samaritan along the Ferny Grove train line, and following the Rule of St Benedict, has flourished, as students, staff and families are encouraged to live out our motto: Attend With a Listening Heart.

The core values and mission of the school reflect the Gospel and Benedictine values and all members of the community are encouraged to 'Make Jesus Real' in their daily words and actions. We adopt UBUNTU and care for each other deeply, embracing that we are who we are, because of our relationship with each other in community.

Our curriculum typifies a holistic broad-based approach, and along with a dedicated staff to enhance the educative process, we have realised exceptional NAPLAN results in past and recent years. Students participate in many sports in conjunction with the local zone sports association.

Our Parent and Friends Advisory Group, and Parent Liaison groups support our school in many practical ways, particularly in the running of
a very successful Fair each year. We offer effective before and after school care for children and also cater to the needs of students and families with a variety of extra-curricular activities, whether they be cultural, academic or sporting pursuits.
