Position Information

Woodberry Public School sits within the Hunter network of schools. The school is community focused with a clear mission to ensure all students reach the highest possible outcomes in all aspects of their education through the values of respect, commitment and responsibility. It is a school which values the contributions of a range of partners and is recognised for its strong standards and ability to adapt to current community needs.  Woodberry Public School has 220 students in seven mainstream classes and seven support classes. Of these students 48% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

With a FOEI of 188, the school uses significant equity resources to optimise support for our students, purchase school resources and provide high impact professional learning to support the learning and wellbeing needs for all. We have a Schools As Community Centre (Woodberry Place of Friends) within our school. As a member of the dynamic Gateway Learning Community of schools we support the needs of the school community with strong alliances and partnerships with government and non-government agencies including our local AECG. We continue to consolidate our highly successful transition to school program through our involvement with the Strong Start, Successful Learners Gateway Learning Community project. We aim to proactively support positive change for the Woodberry Community and work closely with our partner high school, Francis Greenway High School, to continue to enhance the middle years transition program.
